SUMMARY -
A social media and blog campaign for 55places.com to inform about and entice travel to trending travel destinations for 55places.com's active adult user base.
GOALS -
Increase interactivity with social media posts across multiple platforms and drive users to our internal blog and/or to sign up for our weekly emails.
DIRECTION & INSPIRATION -
I did a lot of mood boarding that included all things travel - different transportation modes, camping, backpacking, different locations, postcards, luggage, and all sorts of different established travel advertisements.
Ultimately, I felt the postcard direction was the strongest and would heavily resonate with our website's user base, social media followers, and blog readers - the 55 and over active adult community. My assumption was that the emotional tie that our base's age demographic would carry for this classic pastime of traveling would turn out to be a great strategy - our social media platforms aggregated a 65% increase in interactions and our internal blog reported several hundred percent increase in visits over the multi-week campaign.
